    Strategy has cut its Bitcoin holdings for a second straight week, selling 1,690 BTC for US$108.6 million (AU$154.21 million) between 3 and 9 August. The proceeds were used to purchase 1,152,020 shares of STRC, a variable-rate preferred stock, for US$108.6 million (AU$154.21 million).<\/p>\n

    Following the transaction, the company held 840,447 BTC, acquired at a total cost of US$63.36 billion (AU$89.97 billion), including fees and expenses. The latest coins were sold for an average US$64,262 (AU$91,252) per Bitcoin, below the US$75,385 (AU$107,047) average price paid for Strategy\u2019s overall holdings. The company has disclosed four Bitcoin sales during 2026, amounting to 6,948 BTC.<\/p>\n

    MSTR Sales Lift Company Reserves\u00a0<\/h2>\n

    Strategy also raised US$653.1 million (AU$927.40 million) through the sale of 6.59 million MSTR shares last week. It allocated US$650 million (AU$923 million) of that amount to its US dollar reserve, which reached US$4.65 billion (AU$6.60 billion) on 9 August, while US$3.1 million (AU$4.40 million) was added to cash. The latest reserve figure was higher than the roughly US$4 billion (AU$5.68 billion) reported in the preceding weekly update.<\/p>\n

    Strategy still had US$785.2 million (AU$1.11 billion) available under its preferred-stock repurchase programme and another US$1 billion (AU$1.42 billion) under its common-stock repurchase programme. Its Bitcoin holdings represent around 4% of the cryptocurrency\u2019s 21 million supply cap, according to the source. Bitcoin was trading near US$65,000 (AU$92,300) after the filing, while MSTR and STRC were both up 0.5% in Monday pre-market trading.<\/p>\n
