Withdrawing hundreds of millions of dollars before making contact \u201cis completely different from disclosing a vulnerability, and this conduct diverges from established whitehat practices\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Onchain trackers put the federation wallet\u2019s balance at about 4,200 Bitcoin before September 6, and roughly 200 afterward. The wallet holds the Bitcoin that backs Liquid\u2019s main token one for one, releasing coins only as matching L-BTC is destroyed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blockstream disabled the network\u2019s bridge nodes, so no Bitcoin can peg in or out, and told exchanges to pause L-BTC deposits and withdrawals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has not said when it will lift the pause, though the sidechain itself kept producing blocks.
