It requested information about the provider\u2019s operations to assess its ability to manage money laundering risks.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator said GetCoins was allegedly exploited by organized cryptocurrency investment scams. Losing that registration therefore removes the permission needed to provide those services.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator says it can refuse an application, suspend or cancel registration, or refuse renewal if it considers a business an unacceptable money laundering, terrorism financing or other serious crime risk. It can also impose registration conditions where it identifies unacceptable risk.<\/p>\n<p>The powers apply at different points in a provider\u2019s relationship with the regulator: an application can be refused before registration, while an existing registration can face suspension, cancellation or nonrenewal.
