{"id":13972,"date":"2026-10-01T19:05:47","date_gmt":"2026-10-01T19:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptonews.uk.com\/?p=13972"},"modified":"2026-10-01T19:05:47","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T19:05:47","slug":"bitcoin-etfs-momentum-just-cracked-after-a-3-billion-comeback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptonews.uk.com\/?p=13972","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin ETFs momentum just cracked after a $3 billion comeback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-cs-editorial-figure-scope=\"\" data-cs-editorial-quote-scope=\"\" data-cs-image-viewer-scope=\"\" data-single-article-content=\"\">\n<p>US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded their first daily outflow in more than two weeks, interrupting a recovery that had pushed cumulative flows close to a record.<\/p>\n<p>The funds posted $148.7 million of net withdrawals on Sept. 30, ending nine consecutive positive sessions that brought in about $3.08 billion, according to Farside Investors.<\/p>\n<p>Fidelity\u2019s FBTC drove most of the reversal, with $125.6 million in\u00a0outflows. Bitwise\u2019s BITB lost $13.6 million, and BlackRock\u2019s IBIT shed $9.5 million, while the other nine listed funds recorded no net flows.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the setback, September remained strongly positive. The products attracted about $2.65 billion during the month, their strongest monthly flow this year behind August&#8217;s $3.52 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the positive September flow brought 2026 net inflows to roughly $930 million after much of the year was spent underwater.<\/p>\n<p>The recovery has also brought lifetime cumulative flows back toward their previous high. Bloomberg Intelligence data show the products peaked at about $62.8 billion in cumulative inflows on Oct. 10, 2025, before months of redemptions erased much of that progress.<\/p>\n<p>By July 13, the cumulative drawdown from that peak had reached about $12 billion, leaving lifetime flows near $50.9 billion. The recovery, he added, had made the bearish case harder to sustain as price continued grinding higher.<\/p>\n<p>This suggests the Sept. 30 outflow does little on its own to settle whether the rebound has run its course. The withdrawal was heavily concentrated in Fidelity\u2019s fund, while most of the complex registered no movement.<\/p>\n<p>That makes the next sessions more consequential. A broader run of redemptions across BlackRock, Fidelity and other large issuers would suggest the recent recovery is losing momentum.
