Marvel\u2019s Deadpool and Wolverine are joining forces in a new Royal Canadian Mint precious metal collection, with a quarter-ounce gold round featuring both characters and two one-ounce silver rounds showcasing each superhero individually.<\/p>\n

Announced Oct. 6, the collection was designed by Agoro, a producer of officially licensed precious metal collectibles, and manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint. The releases highlight the characters\u2019 Canadian roots \u2014 Deadpool, whose real name is Wade Wilson, hails from Saskatchewan, while Wolverine, born James Howlett, traces his origins to Alberta.<\/p>\n

“The Mint is always looking for creative ways to showcase Canadian identity and express our national pride, so we were delighted to partner with Agoro to shine a light on the distinctly Canadian roots of Deadpool and Wolverine,” said Tom Froggatt, the Mint\u2019s chief commercial officer.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Gold and Silver Designs<\/h2>\n

The gold round portrays Deadpool and Wolverine facing one another in frosted relief against a matte proof background. Struck in 99.99% pure gold, it weighs 7.78 grams, measures 20 mm in diameter and has a mintage limit of 1,500. Each piece comes in a clear acrylic frame with gold-colored magnets, housed in a custom presentation box.<\/p>\n

The two silver rounds, each containing one ounce of 99.99% pure silver, feature colorful individual portraits. Deadpool points toward himself in a characteristic pose, while Wolverine appears with his claws extended. Engraved maple leaves behind both characters symbolize their Canadian heritage.<\/p>\n

Their opposite sides depict the characters\u2019 gloved hands alongside the inscription TIME TO GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY CAME FOR, a line from the 2024 film Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>. Both silver editions measure 38 mm, weigh 31.39 grams and have mintages of 10,000 each.<\/p>\n

All three collectibles come in custom presentation boxes with hologram authenticity stickers.<\/p>\n

Unlike legal-tender collector coins, the rounds have no monetary denominations. They can be ordered through the Royal Canadian Mint\u2019s online store, by telephone at 1-800-268-6468 in the United States, or through participating dealers and distributors. The Mint\u2019s boutiques in Ottawa and Winnipeg began offering the collection Oct. 6.<\/p>\n

Shipping is expected to begin Oct. 20 for the silver rounds and Nov. 2 for the gold edition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
