    Once again, like every Monday and almost religiously at this point, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has announced a new batch, but this time, a big boy purchase, one of US$1.25 billion (AU$1.86 billion).<\/p>\n

    The purchase lifts Strategy\u2019s holdings to 687,410 BTC. The company said it has spent US$51.80 billion (AU$79.2 billion) in total to build the position, at an average entry price of US$75,353 (AU$112,324) per Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

    The company\u2019s share price has moved with Bitcoin\u2019s recent volatility. Strategy\u2019s stock (MSTR) traded above US$450 (AU$670) last summer but closed Friday at US$157 (AU$234), a drop of about 65%.<\/p>\n

    MSTR Sits on Unrealised Gains, Cash Reserves<\/h2>\n

    With Bitcoin trading around US$90,600 (AU$135,044), the stash is worth roughly US$62.3 billion (AU$95.3 billion), implying more than US$10 billion (AU$14.9 billion) in unrealised gains based on the figures provided.<\/p>\n

    Strategy\u2019s buying has continued over the past 18 months, accelerating after Donald Trump\u2019s late-2024 election win, when expectations grew for shifts in US crypto regulation, accordingly.<\/p>\n

    Strategy has also built for itself a nice trench of cash, over US$2.19 billion (AU$3.26 billion), lifting its cash reserve after selling common shares and raising about US$748 million (AU$1.12 billion).<\/p>\n

    That cash is big enough to cover the firm\u2019s interest and preferred dividends for about 32 months, so they basically covered everyone with scheduled payments.<\/p>\n

    This also comes shortly after Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) decided not to remove crypto firms from indices yet, which triggered a nice pump for MSTR.<\/p>\n

    Bitcoin is currently trading around US$91K (AU$135K), practically no change today, but a slight decrease in the weekly chart, as per CoinMarketCap data.<\/p>\n
