January silver bullion coin sales surged at The Perth Mint<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

January brought sharply higher silver demand at the Perth Mint, producing its strongest monthly silver total in more than two and a half years, while gold sales declined from December but remained well ahead of year-earlier levels.<\/p>\n

The Mint\u2019s performance unfolded against soaring precious metal prices. Based on LBMA data in U.S. dollars, gold rose 15.6%, or $673.90, to $4,981.85 per ounce in January, while silver climbed 43.3%, or $31.20, to $103.19.<\/p>\n

Perth Mint Bullion Sales in January 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Silver coin and bar sales for the month totaled 1,722,639 ounces \u2014 the most for any month since May 2023 \u2014 marking increases of 188.1% from December and 315.1% from January 2025.<\/p>\n

\n

“With the sustained interest in silver bullion, we have focused our production efforts on our core products to ensure we meet our customers\u2019 expectations,” stated Neil Vance, The Perth Mint\u2019s General Manager Minted Products. “The focus of demand has been on silver kangaroo coins and silver kilobars, while the silver kookaburra coin was launched in January to strong sales.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Perth Mint reported gold coin and bar sales of 29,103 ounces in January, down 18.9% from December but 56.9% higher than in January 2025.<\/p>\n

Perth Mint Gold and Silver Sales by Month through January 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Below is a monthly summary of Perth Mint bullion sales from January 2022 to January 2026. The figures show monthly ounces of gold and silver shipped as minted products by The Perth Mint to wholesale and retail customers worldwide. It excludes sales of cast bars and other Group activities including sales of allocated\/unallocated precious metal for storage by the Depository.<\/p>\n
