The United States Mint has temporarily suspended public tours and closed the gift shop at its facility in Philadelphia as renovations to the building\u2019s front entrance move forward.<\/p>\n

The changes took effect March 9 and are expected to remain in place until the end of April, when tours are scheduled to resume.<\/p>\n

According to the Mint, the renovation project will create a redesigned entrance experience for visitors, including updated exhibits and a larger assembly space. The improvements will better accommodate guests ahead of the nation\u2019s upcoming 250th anniversary celebrations.<\/p>\n

During the renovation period, the Philadelphia facility will not offer tours or access to its on-site gift shop. Collectors and visitors interested in purchasing coins or Mint-branded merchandise can continue to do so through the Mint\u2019s online catalog.<\/p>\n

The Philadelphia Mint is one of the bureau\u2019s most visited locations and regularly hosts educational tours highlighting the history of American coinage and the coin manufacturing process.<\/p>\n
