Many secure digital processes depend on exactly this kind of neutral record-keeping layer, including systems used for online voting, software version control and certificate revocation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These technologies do not necessarily require complex financial operations or extensive computation, but they do need a dependable location where information can be stored and accessed by multiple participants.
