The Revolutionary War quarter, the second of five redesigned quarters for 2026 as part of the nation\u2019s Semiquincentennial circulating coinage, began entering circulation today.<\/p>\n

1776 ~ 2026 Semiquincentennial Revolutionary War Quarter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Honoring the will and strength to overcome the trials of war in pursuit of liberty, the coin continues the U.S. Mint\u2019s series marking the nation\u2019s 250th anniversary. Each quarter features a one-year-only design and carries the dual date 1776 ~ 2026.<\/p>\n

The full lineup includes:<\/p>\n

  • Mayflower Compact (entered circulation Jan. 5)<\/li>\n
  • Revolutionary War (entered circulation March 23)<\/li>\n
  • Declaration of Independence<\/li>\n
  • U.S. Constitution<\/li>\n
  • Gettysburg Address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    All five designs are being released during the year, with each entering circulation sequentially.<\/p>\n

    Designed and sculpted by Joseph Menna, the obverse (heads) of the 2026 Revolutionary War quarter features George Washington, the nation\u2019s first president and Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Inscriptions include E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1776 ~ 2026.<\/p>\n

    “We are reminded that the legacy of the Revolutionary War is not just preserved in books but lives on in places like Mount Vernon \u2014 and now, in the coins we carry with us every day, ” Treasurer of the U.S. Brandon Beach said March 23 at the quarter\u2019s launch event at George Washington\u2019s Mount Vernon.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    Designed by Donna Weaver and sculpted by Craig A. Campbell, the reverse (tails) depicts a Continental Army soldier at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, reflecting the hardships endured during the winter encampment of 1777-1778 following setbacks such as the Battle of Brandywine. With independence declared months earlier and the Continental Congress forced to flee Philadelphia, the design captures the resolve of those who persevered in pursuit of liberty. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, 25\u00a2, and REVOLUTIONARY WAR.<\/p>\n

    Circulating-quality Revolutionary War quarters struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints are scheduled to be offered to the public beginning Friday, March 27, at catalog.usmint.gov. Two product options are listed: a two-roll set priced at $56, and a pair of 100-coin bags priced at $63 each, with both featuring U.S. Mint-branded roll wrappers and bags. Demand for rolls and bags of the earlier Mayflower Compact quarter was strong, with all now listed as unavailable.<\/p>\n

    Additional Semiquincentennial circulating coins for 2026 include redesigned versions of the dime without President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the half dollar without President John F. Kennedy, along with other denominations featuring dual-dated or commemorative elements tied to the anniversary.<\/p>\n
