The expanding 1776 ~ 2026 Semiquincentennial rollout lifted the month\u2019s output to more than twice the combined total from January through March. The Federal Reserve then distributes the coins through its terminals to commercial banks and other financial institutions, helping maintain the supply needed to meet everyday public demand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Month-Over-Month Production Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recent totals also reflect a major change in the Mint\u2019s circulating coin mix. Beginning in July of last year, and at the direction of the Treasury, the U.S. Mint stopped producing cents for circulation. That change removed what had long been the Mint\u2019s highest-volume denomination from circulating production. Dollar coins are no longer ordered by the Federal Reserve, but they continue to be struck for collector products, with monthly production figures published by the Mint for Native American $1 coins. The same had applied to half dollars until 2021, when Federal Reserve orders resumed. Half dollars have been produced for circulation each year since, though in much smaller quantities than other denominations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mintages of 2026 Semiquincentennial Half Dollars<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It remains unclear how many 2026 half dollars have been produced specifically for general circulation. Mint figures show the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>January: +7.5 million from Denver and +6.3 million from Philadelphia<\/li>\n<li>February: +3 million from Denver and +1.8 million from Philadelphia<\/li>\n<li>March: +7.6 million from Denver and +3.2 million from Philadelphia<\/li>\n<li>April: +21.7 million from Denver and +18.9 million from Philadelphia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Combined production through April totals 39.8 million coins from Denver and 30.2 million from Philadelphia \u2014 70 million coins overall.<\/p>\n<p>For comparison, 2025 production totaled 19.8 million coins at Denver and 14.2 million at Philadelphia, or 34 million overall.<\/p>\n<p>On May 26, the U.S. Mint will begin sales of  2026-P and 2026-D Enduring Liberty half dollars in branded rolls and bags.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mintages of Native American Dollars<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Like half dollars, 2026 Native American dollars saw a sharp April increase, with more coins struck during the month than during the entire January-to-March period. The Mint\u2019s monthly production data show:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>January: +140,000 from Denver<\/li>\n<li>February: +840,000 from Philadelphia<\/li>\n<li>March: +840,000 from Philadelphia<\/li>\n<li>April: +2.56 million from Denver and +2.92 million from Philadelphia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Combined production through April totals 2.7 million coins from Denver and 4.6 million from Philadelphia \u2014 7.3 million coins overall.<\/p>\n<p>For comparison, 2025 production reached 5.18 million coins, including 2.52 million from Denver and 2.66 million from Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 27, the U.S. Mint began selling 2026 P&amp;D Native American dollars.
