The United States Mint will celebrate the upcoming release of its 1776 ~ 2026 Gettysburg Address quarter with a public ceremony and coin exchange Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center in Gettysburg National Military Park, Pennsylvania. The free event, beginning at 11 a.m., is the Mint’s final launch celebration for the special quarter series commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.

This year’s quarters feature five one-year designs highlighting milestones in American history. Earlier releases honored the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution. The Gettysburg Address quarter recognizes Lincoln’s 1863 speech and its enduring message of national unity.

U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and U.S. Mint Director Paul Hollis will join Gettysburg National Military Park Superintendent Stephanie Stephens and Gettysburg Foundation Acting President Barbara Sardella for the ceremony.
Activities will include a Civil War-era brass band performance and a ceremonial coin pour into a replica of Lincoln’s familiar stovepipe hat. Following the ceremony, the Mint will distribute free Gettysburg Address quarters in commemorative coin boards.
ACNB Bank will coordinate a public coin exchange inside the Museum and Visitor Center, giving attendees an opportunity to obtain additional quarters. The exchange will be cash-only, and visitors are advised to bring cash because no ATM is available at the facility.
