2026 Dime Without Roosevelt Debuts in US Mint Rolls and Bags

The United States Mint is now offering 2026 Emerging Liberty Semiquincentennial dimes in rolls and bags, giving collectors a new way to get one of the most talked-about coins of the year. With its one-year-only designs, dual date 1776 ~ 2026, and the first U.S. Mint roll and bag offerings for a dime, the release adds to the lineup of special circulating coins issued for the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Before 2026, every circulating dime since 1946 had featured President Franklin D. Roosevelt, making this the denomination’s first break from that portrait in 80 years.

2026 Dime Roll and Bag Options and Prices

The U.S. Mint is offering two product options containing only the new 2026 dimes. One is a two-roll set priced at $40, containing two $5 rolls — one with 50 dimes struck at the Philadelphia Mint and the other with 50 struck at the Denver Mint.

The second option is a 200-coin bag priced at $54. It includes 100 Philadelphia dimes and 100 Denver dimes packaged together in a single canvas bag.

All of the coins are struck to circulation quality, but the examples sold in these products were set aside before entering general circulation.

    Circulation Finds Possible

Collectors are not limited to the Mint’s new rolls and bags, as 2026 Emerging Liberty dimes are also turning up in circulation.

The Mint started shipping 2026 Semiquincentennial coins to Federal Reserve Banks on Jan. 5, including the Emerging Liberty dime. Through March, it reported 260 million struck for circulation, including 135 million at Denver and 125 million at Philadelphia.

Still, the Mint’s new products hold added appeal for collectors, as only they include official U.S. Mint-branded roll wrappers and bags.

Designs of the 2026 Emerging Liberty Dime

Appearing on the obverse of the new dime is a design by Esao Andrews depicting a resolute Liberty, her hair swept by the winds of revolution. Her liberty cap, adorned with stars and stripes, symbolizes the emerging nation while also recalling early American coinage. Inscriptions read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1776 ~ 2026. The obverse was sculpted by Craig A. Campbell.

The reverse, designed by Eric David Custer, depicts an eagle in flight clutching arrows in its talons, symbolizing the American Revolution and the colonists’ struggle for independence. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DIME, and LIBERTY OVER TYRANNY.

The pair of designs was selected from among 21 candidates reviewed in late 2024.

    Other Semiquincentennial Circulating Coins

The 2026 Semiquincentennial dime is part of a broader lineup of circulating coins marking the nation’s milestone anniversary. Joining it are the 2026 Enduring Liberty half dollar and five one-year-only quarters honoring the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Gettysburg Address.

Also appearing in 2026 are the cent and nickel, which retain their familiar designs but add the dual date 1776 ~ 2026. The cent is no longer issued for circulation and will only be available later this year in U.S. Mint proof and uncirculated sets.

    How to Order

Beginning today at noon ET, orders for 2026 Emerging Liberty dime rolls and bags can be placed through the Mint’s online Semiquincentennial Coins page.

The Mint has established an initial household order limit of one per product option, with 12,000 two-roll sets and 8,000 200-coin bags available.
