Hyperliquid’s token is tanking as ETF investors flee, so why does Grayscale think it is massively undervalued?
Investors are withdrawing money from Hyperliquid-linked exchange-traded funds for the first time since the products launched.Data from SoSoValue shows that the three funds have recorded more than $13 million in net outflows in July, putting them on course for their first negative month after attracting about $280 million since inception.Nearly $27 million has left the products since demand reversed in the second half of July, ending a nine-week run of consecutive inflows, SoSoValue data show.Hyperliquid ETFs Weekly Flow (Source: SoSoValue)Data from CryptoSlate shows that the fund retreat has coincided with a more than 13% monthly decline in Hyperliquid’s HYPE token,…
US spot Bitcoin ETFs took in roughly $999 million over seven straight days of inflows from July 14 to July 22, according to data from Farside Investors. Four straight outflow days followed, pulling about $526 million back out through July 28.Across the broader window from May 29 to July 28, daily totals imply roughly $4.46 billion in net outflows. Cumulative net inflows since launch still stood near $51.4 billion as of July 29.Swings like these are why traders default to ETF flows as their read on institutional conviction: heavy outflows read as lost interest, inflows read as renewed demand. That framework…
A secret 11th-hour CLARITY proposal to protect crypto coders was just ripped apart by both sides of Washington
Senate negotiations over the landmark CLARITY Act are producing fresh concessions, but little evidence that the parties are moving closer to a deal.Democrats are moving on regulatory appointments and ethics, while law-enforcement groups have proposed new language for one of the CLARITY Act’s most contentious provisions. The White House and crypto advocates, however, have rejected some of those overtures in unusually blunt terms, leaving a bipartisan ethics counteroffer as the next major test of whether negotiators can still bridge their differences.Democratic nominees narrow one CLARITY sticking pointSenate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has sent the White House two potential candidates each for…
Russia’s Federal Security Service said on Wednesday it had placed Pavel Durov on an international wanted list and charged him under Article 205.1 of the criminal code with aiding terrorist activity, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The FSB alleges Telegram refused to remove channels, chats and bots used by Ukrainian special services and by groups Russia designates as terrorist; it named no specific incident and published no supporting evidence. Neither Durov nor Telegram has commented on the charge, no Interpol notice has been reported, and Durov holds French and Emirati citizenship. The FSB alleges that Telegram’s administration…
The Federal Reserve held its benchmark rate at 3.50% to 3.75% on July 29 in a 9-3 vote that showed real division inside the committee: Beth Hammack, Neel Kashkari and Lorie Logan all preferred a quarter-point increase. That was the first time since September 2016 that three policymakers dissented in the same direction.Bitcoin briefly traded above $64,000 once the decision landed, then slipped back toward $63,600 before reclaiming $64,000 overnight. That leaves it near the bottom of the price range on-chain analytics firm Glassnode considers most important for the current cycle.Stephen Coltman, head of macro at 21Shares, called the hold a…
Hungary has removed an additional crypto transaction validation requirement while keeping MiCA licensing and domestic compliance obligations in place. The government says the policy change is intended to help revive a market that saw companies suspend or withdraw services under the previous framework. CoinCash has secured Hungary’s first direct MiCA authorisation from the National Bank and plans to gradually resume and expand its services. Hungary has repealed legislation requiring certain cryptocurrency transactions to undergo mandatory third-party validation, removing an additional layer of oversight that operated alongside the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation. According to the government, the previous framework…

Tokenised traditional assets listed on major crypto exchanges have expanded almost fivefold since January 2025 as exchanges diversify beyond digital assets. Investor demand has shifted from precious metals towards US stock perpetual futures, making equity-linked products the market’s leading segment. Competitive pressure from decentralised exchanges and traditional brokerages is encouraging crypto platforms to broaden their product offerings. Crypto exchanges are increasingly adding tokenised traditional financial assets as competition from decentralised platforms and established brokerages reshapes the industry, according to new research. The report showed the combined market capitalisation of tokenised traditional assets listed across six leading cryptocurrency exchanges increased from…

Raphael Zagury, the newly appointed CEO of Bitcoin-focused public company Twenty One Capital, says the premium-funded model behind Bitcoin treasury firms cannot provide easy returns forever. His answer is to build cash-generating businesses around the company’s BTC balance sheet. In a July 22 fireside chat furnished to the SEC, Zagury described issuing shares above the net asset value of a company’s Bitcoin holdings and using the proceeds to buy more BTC as a temporary market dislocation. As more companies copy the strategy, he said, their market-value premiums should converge toward 1x.“There’s no free money forever,” Zagury said. The premium could return,…
