US Mint Reveals 1776-2026 Diamond Field Morgan & Peace Dollars

The United States Mint has released images of its 2026-P Diamond Field Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar Set, providing the first look at a distinctive new treatment for the classic silver dollar designs.

Both coins feature fields covered by a repeating diamond pattern that contrasts with their raised designs. They also feature the 1776 ~ 2026 dual date and a Liberty Bell 250 privy mark for the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the dollars have P mint marks and will be packaged together in a black presentation case with a certificate of authenticity. Like other issues in the modern series, each coin is struck in 99.9% silver, weighs 0.859 troy ounce and measures 38.10 mm in diameter.

As the fourth two-coin set to pair the dollars, the Diamond Field product follows reverse proof sets issued from San Francisco in 2023, 2024 and 2025, with respective mintage limits of 250,000, 262,500 and 160,000. Their latest reported sales stand at 247,820, 160,739 and 122,720 sets, respectively. The new 2026 set matches last year’s 160,000-set limit but introduces the Diamond Field treatment in place of the reverse proof finish.

Earlier this year, the Mint launched individual reverse proof versions on July 9, both struck at the Philadelphia Mint with P mint marks. Those were followed Aug. 25 by the first enhanced uncirculated Morgan and Peace dollars in the modern series, struck at the West Point Mint but carrying no mint marks.

Through Sept. 7, sales of the reverse proofs reached 161,304 Morgan dollars and 146,292 Peace dollars. The enhanced uncirculated issues stood at 100,461 Morgan dollars and 92,804 Peace dollars.

Ordering for the 2026-P Diamond Field Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar Set begins Nov. 12 at noon ET at a price of $375. The Mint lists both its mintage and product limit at 160,000 sets, with no household order limit. Subscriptions, which would automatically include the 2026 set, are currently unavailable.
