Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are featured in a new collectible product from the United States Mint. Launching today, the U.S. Mint’s first Comic Art Three-Medal Set brings the legendary superheroes together in a colorful offering with broad appeal among comic book fans and coin collectors alike.

The release is the latest entry in the U.S. Mint’s multi-year Comic Art Coin and Medal Program, created to explore the ideals of DC Super Heroes and the American values they embody. The designs first appeared in 2025 on individual gold coins and two sizes of silver medals released separately throughout the year.

Packaged on a vibrant, comic-inspired display card, the three officially licensed medals unite the Man of Steel, the Dark Knight and the Amazon warrior through dynamic artwork highlighting each legendary DC character.

Today’s set features what many consider the core trio of the DC universe:

    • Superman — shown in flight, symbolizing hope and strength
    • Batman — depicted in motion against a Gotham skyline, representing justice and determination
    • Wonder Woman — portrayed with shield and Lasso of Truth, reflecting peace and equality

    Half Dollar-Sized Medals

Each medal of the set is struck from a composition of 8.33% nickel with the balance copper, has a diameter of 1.205 inches / 30.61 mm, and weight of 11.340 grams. Those specifications match a half dollar, although the medals have a plain edge rather than the coin’s reeded edge.

Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman Designs

U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, a former DC artist, designed and sculpted all three obverses, and designed the Batman and Wonder Woman reverses.

The Superman obverse features the hero soaring above his family farm in a tribute to the values instilled in him by his adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent. LIBERTY is inscribed above. Designed and sculpted by U.S. Mint Medallic Artist Joseph V. Noorigian, the reverse depicts a young Clark Kent contemplating his future as his father watches from nearby, emphasizing the dual nature of Superman’s identity. Inscriptions read SUPERMAN and HOPE AND STRENGTH.

The Batman obverse depicts the Caped Crusader leaping into action to defend Gotham. A stone eagle perched above symbolizes vigilance, while LIBERTY appears along the upper border. Sculpted by U.S. Mint Medallic Artist John P. McGraw, the reverse shows Batman in silhouette against the Gotham skyline, with the Bat-Signal shining above as a beacon of justice and courage. Inscriptions read BATMAN and JUSTICE AND COURAGE.

The Wonder Woman obverse depicts her leaping into action with her shield in one hand and the Lasso of Truth in the other. Stripes from the American flag appear behind her as a nod to her World War II-era costume. LIBERTY is inscribed above. Sculpted by U.S. Mint Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill, the reverse depicts Wonder Woman with Earth behind her and three doves in flight, symbolizing peace, equality and justice. Inscriptions read WONDER WOMAN and PEACE AND EQUALITY.

Comic Art Coin and Medal Program

Its inaugural designs featured Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, each appearing on a half-ounce 24-karat gold coin, a 2.5-ounce silver medal and a 1-ounce silver medal.

Green Lantern, Robin and Supergirl are scheduled to join the program later in 2026, followed by The Flash, Batgirl and Aquaman in 2027.
