U.S. Mint Offers 1776-2026 Constitution Quarter Rolls and Bags

Extending the United States Mint’s 2026 Semiquincentennial quarter program, the 1776 ~ 2026 U.S. Constitution Quarter launches today in rolls and bags as the fourth of five one-year-only quarter designs planned for the year.

Circulating-quality coins from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints will go on sale at noon ET in 100-coin bags and a two-roll set containing 40 coins from each location. Demand will be brisk: U.S. Mint-branded rolls and bags for the first three 2026 quarters sold quickly and are unavailable.

Outside the Mint’s rolls and bags, the quarters are also making their way into pocket change, after the Mint began shipping them to Federal Reserve Banks on Aug. 10.

The Constitution quarter is part of a broader revamp of the nation’s circulating coinage for America’s 250th anniversary. The cent and nickel keep their familiar designs but carry the dual date 1776 ~ 2026. The dime (without Roosevelt), five quarters and half dollar (without Kennedy) feature entirely new one-year designs, as detailed by CoinNews in December.

Semiquincentennial U.S. Constitution Quarter Designs

Appearing on the obverse (heads side) of each new Constitution quarter is a portrait of James Madison, the fourth President of the United States. Often called the “Father of the Constitution,” Madison played a pivotal role in drafting and advocating for the nation’s foundational document. The inscriptions include E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1776 ~ 2026. Former U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Joel Iskowitz designed the portrait, while former Mint Medallic Artist Don Everhart sculpted it.

The reverse (tails side) depicts Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where both the Declaration and U.S. Constitution were written, debated, and signed. The building carries another anniversary reference, with its clock set to 2:50 in a nod to the nation’s 250th. To the right is the inscription WE THE PEOPLE. Additional inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, U.S. CONSTITUTION, and QUARTER DOLLAR.

Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Donna Weaver designed the reverse, and Mint Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill sculpted it.

Constitution quarters are available in the following product options:

• Two-roll sets (80 quarters, 40 from each of the Philadelphia and Denver Mints) — $56
• 100-coin bags (from either the Philadelphia or Denver Mint) — $63

An initial household order limit of two per product will remain in place for the first 26 hours of sales.

Semiquincentennial Quarters

The Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020 (Public Law 116-330) authorized five 1776 ~ 2026 quarter designs, each emblematic of the United States Semiquincentennial.

The Mint still lists the Gettysburg Address quarter rolls and bags simply for “Fall 2026,” without a specific date.

Collector versions of all five quarters have also appeared in the 2026 Silver Proof Set and Uncirculated Mint Set, both now unavailable from the Mint. The standard 2026 Proof Set, also containing all five, is scheduled for release this fall.
