Only Hours Remain to Preorder U.S. Mint 9/11 Half Dollars

Only hours remain to buy the United States Mint’s 1776 ~ 2026-P Enduring Liberty half dollars with the NEVER FORGET 9/11 privy mark. Orders close today, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. ET.

The Philadelphia-struck coins are part of the Mint’s one-year Semiquincentennial half dollar program, which replaces the familiar John F. Kennedy portrait used on U.S. half dollars since 1964 with the Enduring Liberty design for 2026. Offered since Sept. 10, the special issues pair that design with a privy showing 9-11-01 encircled by NEVER FORGET.

Final Hours to Order and Latest Sales

Orders can be placed directly through the U.S. Mint for 20-coin rolls priced at $40 and 100-coin bags at $100. Neither option has a listed mintage, product or household order limit. Shipping is expected to begin Dec. 3.

Demand has been strong throughout the offering. Through Sept. 20, the Mint reported sales of 41,830 rolls and 20,491 bags, representing a combined 2,885,700 half dollars and about $3.72 million based on their issue prices. The two products ranked first and second among the Mint’s weekly sellers for a second consecutive reporting period. Their opening sales a week earlier totaled 32,980 rolls and 16,170 bags, representing nearly 2.28 million coins.

Each half dollar carries a P mint mark, with the 9-11-01 NEVER FORGET privy appearing on the obverse.

How the 9/11 Privy Halves Differ

The coins differ from regular Enduring Liberty half dollars released earlier this year for limited circulation, which are also sold by the Mint in rolls and bags. Those Philadelphia- and Denver-struck pieces do not carry the 9/11 privy mark.

The preorder coins are also separate from special West Point-struck Enduring Liberty half dollars carrying an ALWAYS REMEMBER 9/11 privy mark. The Mint produced 2,983 of those pieces for presentation to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
