XRP rebounds as derivatives improve, but faces EMA resistance

CoinGlass’ long-to-short ratios stood at 1.09 for XRP on Tuesday. Readings above one indicate that longs outnumber shorts within the accounts or positions tracked by the metric.

The figures suggest a modest preference for bullish exposure in both assets. However, neither reading points to overwhelming conviction, and positioning alone does not confirm that prices will continue rising.

XRP’s funding rate turned negative on Monday and stood at -0.0055% on Tuesday. Negative funding means short traders are paying long traders, suggesting continued demand for bearish exposure despite the slightly positive long-to-short ratio.

XRP remains below key moving averages

At $1.374, XRP trades below its 200-day exponential moving average at $1.381 and its 50-day EMA at $1.395.

Those levels form the first resistance barriers facing the rebound. The token remains above its 100-day EMA at $1.339, providing nearby support, but its position beneath the other two averages leaves the short-term bias bearish.

The Relative Strength Index is near 40, indicating subdued buying momentum without reaching outright oversold territory. 

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator also remains negative, reinforcing the cautious outlook.

A sustained recovery above $1.381 and $1.395 would ease immediate technical pressure.

Beyond that moving-average cluster, the analysis identifies more distant horizontal resistance at $1.671 and $1.900.

On the downside, the 100-day EMA at $1.339 is the first support reference, followed by $1.300.

A sustained break below $1.300 would weaken the recovery structure and bring the deeper support area around $1.000 into focus.

For now, improving derivatives positioning offers some encouragement, but XRP needs stronger price momentum to reclaim its overhead moving averages.
