The United States Mint will resume sales of the 2026-W Proof American Silver Eagle on Wednesday, June 24, at around 7:30 a.m. ET, reopening access to the special 250th anniversary coin featuring dual dates of 1776 ~ 2026 and a Liberty Bell “250” privy mark.

The West Point-struck Silver Eagle debuted Feb. 26 for $173. Available inventory lasted approximately 17 minutes before the coin became unavailable.
Opening Sales Near 300,000
Initial sales reached 295,410 coins by March 1, representing 59.1% of the stated 500,000-coin mintage.
Aside from a gain of 3,980 in the following week, weekly figures have shown only modest adjustments, both positive and negative. According to the Mint’s latest sales report through June 14, total sales stand at 299,639 coins.

After the February launch, the Mint confirmed that initial inventory had been exhausted and stated that additional coins would be produced toward the published mintage limit.
Secondary-Market Prices Remain Firm
Secondary-market prices have held steady for those with coins already in hand. Examples in original U.S. Mint packaging generally sell for $225 to $235. Certified coins graded 69 have realized approximately $230 to $240, while perfect 70 examples have typically brought $300 to $340.
1776 ~ 2026 Silver Eagle Design
Augmented to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding, the coin carries its dual dates and Liberty Bell privy on the obverse alongside Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design, which has appeared on American Silver Eagles since the series began in 1986.
The reverse depicts Emily Damstra’s eagle approaching a landing while carrying an oak branch. Introduced in 2021, the design also bears the W mint mark and inscriptions identifying the coin’s one-dollar denomination and one troy ounce of fine silver.
Each coin is composed of 99.9% silver, weighs 31.103 grams and measures 40.60 millimeters in diameter. Its proof finish combines mirror-like fields with frosted design elements.
Current availability and “Remind Me” alerts for the 2026-W Proof American Silver Eagle are available through the U.S. Mint’s product page.
