The United States Mint closes out its July release schedule with the new 2026 Minnesota Innovation dollar. Featuring a Liberty Bell “250” privy mark commemorating the nation’s Semiquincentennial, the coin honors the invention of mobile refrigeration, which transformed the transportation of perishable and temperature-sensitive goods.

Going on sale at noon ET in rolls and bags, the Minnesota dollar marks the 32nd state-specific issue in the Mint’s American Innovation® $1 Coin Program and the final of four designs for release this year. Rolls and bags containing the first three 2026 coins are no longer available from the Mint.

Designs for the Minnesota Innovation Dollars

Selected from fourteen candidate designs, the reverse depicts a 1940s-era delivery truck equipped with an early front-mounted refrigeration unit, honoring the invention of mobile refrigeration. Icons along the side of the truck represent the wide range of perishable and temperature-sensitive goods that the innovation made possible to transport over long distances.

Reverse inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, MINNESOTA and MOBILE REFRIGERATION. Artistic Infusion Program designer Beth Zaiken created the design, which was sculpted by U.S. Mint Medallic Artist Joseph V. Noorigian.

The common obverse, featured on all coins in the program, presents a dramatic profile of the Statue of Liberty with the inscriptions IN GOD WE TRUST and $1. Artistic Infusion Program artist Justin Kunz created the design, which was sculpted by Phebe Hemphill.

A stylized gear privy mark, representing industry and innovation, also appears on the obverse. For 2026, the privy incorporates a Liberty Bell with the inscription “250” to mark the nation’s semiquincentennial.

Along the edge of each coin are the inscriptions E PLURIBUS UNUM, the year 2026, and a mint mark — either “P” or “D” — indicating whether the coin was produced at the Philadelphia or Denver Mint.

    Prices, Ordering and Product Limits

The Minnesota American Innovation $1 Coin is offered in 25-coin rolls priced at $61 and 100-coin bags priced at $154.50. Prices are unchanged from the previous two releases but higher than at the start of the year. The 2026 Iowa Innovation dollar debuted in January at $36.25 per roll and $123.50 per bag.

The products are available through the U.S. Mint’s online store in its American Innovation section.

Product limits stand at 8,400 Philadelphia rolls, 7,350 Denver rolls, 3,150 Philadelphia bags, and 2,950 Denver bags. A household order limit of 10 units applies to each product option.

    American Innovation Dollars for 2026

The U.S. Mint’s American Innovation $1 Coin Program debuted in 2018 with an introductory coin commemorating George Washington’s signing of the nation’s first patent. Since 2019, the series has added four coins annually.

    • Iowa $1 Coin — Honoring Dr. Norman Borlaug and his groundbreaking contributions to agronomy.
    • Wisconsin $1 Coin — Featuring a stylized aerial view of the Cray-1 supercomputer.
    • California $1 Coin — Depicting a young Steve Jobs against a Northern California landscape.
    • Minnesota — Showcasing a 1940s-era truck equipped with an early front-mounted refrigeration unit, recognizing the invention of mobile refrigeration.

When completed in 2032, the series will include coins celebrating invention and innovation from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U.S. territories.

In addition to bags and rolls, all four 2026 American Innovation dollars will be included in the 2026 American Innovation $1 Coin Reverse Proof Set, which is scheduled for release this fall.
