August brings another high-profile slate of Semiquincentennial products from the U.S. Mint, including enhanced uncirculated Morgan and Peace silver dollars, two additions to the Best of the Mint series, and the fourth 1776 ~ 2026 quarter for circulation. The month also includes the Comic Art Three Medal Set featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

US Mint products scheduled for release in August include 1776 ~ 2026 Morgan and Peace silver dollars Best of the Mint sets Constitution quarters and Comic Art medals

Most of August’s numismatic releases carry dual dates of 1776 ~ 2026, Liberty Bell “250” privy marks or other elements commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.

August 3: Comic Art Three-Medal Set

The U.S. Mint’s Comic Art Coin and Medal Program continues on Aug. 3 with the introduction of the Comic Art Three Medal Set. Priced at $130, the collection brings together copper-nickel medals featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman — the first three characters in the program — in a single package.

Struck at the Denver Mint with a matte finish, each medal shares the composition, weight and diameter of a modern half dollar: 8.33% nickel with the balance copper, 11.34 grams and 30.61 millimeters. Unlike the coin, however, each medal has a plain edge rather than a reeded one.

The set offers the only way to obtain all three inaugural Comic Art medal designs together. It has no mintage or product limits and will launch with a household order limit of one set.

August 6: 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set

The third release in the Best of the Mint series features a half-ounce 24-karat gold coin recreating Adolph A. Weinman’s 1916 Walking Liberty half dollar design, paired with a newly designed one-ounce silver medal. The gold coin carries a Liberty Bell “250” privy mark, while the companion medal offers a modern Art Deco interpretation of Weinman’s original design.

Limited to 30,000 sets and carrying a one-per-household order limit, the release will be the third-most affordable of the five sets in the series. The Mint has not yet announced the price, but if it launched today, it would be $2,775 based on a weekly LBMA gold average of $4,050 to $4,099.99 an ounce.

The inaugural Mercury Dime Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set is no longer available, with the latest reported sales at 28,538. The second release, featuring the Standing Liberty quarter, remains available with sales of 15,376.

August 25: 1776 ~ 2026 Enhanced Uncirculated Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars

Collectors will have another opportunity to add Semiquincentennial Morgan and Peace silver dollars to their collections on Aug. 25, when the U.S. Mint releases enhanced uncirculated editions struck at the West Point Mint. Priced at $169 each, both coins feature the dual date 1776 ~ 2026 and a Liberty Bell “250” privy mark, continuing the anniversary theme introduced on July’s reverse proof releases.

CoinNews photo shows both sides of the recently released 1776 ~ 2026 W Enhanced Uncirculated American Silver Eagle which carries the same type of finish dual date and Liberty Bell 250 privy mark as the upcoming Morgan and Peace silver dollars

Each coin is struck in 99.9% silver, contains 0.859 troy ounce of the precious metal, and features an enhanced uncirculated finish that combines polished and laser-frosted surfaces to emphasize design details. Both dollars have a mintage limit of 250,000 and will debut with a household order limit of 10.

Subscriptions are already open, allowing collectors to enroll for automatic fulfillment when the coins are released.

    August 26: Semiquincentennial 2026 U.S. Constitution Quarters

The fourth Semiquincentennial quarter design arrives on Aug. 26. The 1776 ~ 2026 U.S. Constitution quarter will be available in circulation-quality strikes from both the Philadelphia and Denver Mints in the following formats:

    • Two-roll set (P&D): $56.00
    • 100-coin bag (P): $63.00
    • 100-coin bag (D): $63.00

The one-year-only design honors the U.S. Constitution and follows the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War and Declaration of Independence quarters released earlier in the year. The Gettysburg Address quarter will complete the five-coin series.

Product and household order limits have not yet been announced.

August 27: 1804 Silver Dollar Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set

The fourth Best of the Mint release pairs a one-ounce 24-karat gold coin recreating the famed 1804 silver dollar with a newly designed one-ounce silver medal. The gold coin carries a Liberty Bell “250” privy mark, while the companion medal presents a modern interpretation inspired by the original silver dollar’s iconic design.

As the second Best of the Mint release scheduled for August, the set will compete with the Walking Liberty issue for collectors’ budgets. Even so, unlike the first three releases and the final set in the series, the 1804 silver dollar has not previously been recreated on modern U.S. Mint coinage. That distinction, along with the considerable buzz already surrounding the release, should make it one of the series’ most sought-after sets, despite its higher price.

The set carries a one-per-household order limit at launch. Its mintage has not yet been announced but is expected to follow the 30,000-set limit used for the first three releases in the series. Pricing also remains pending, though if it launched today, the Mint’s pricing matrix would place it at $5,240.

Product limits, prices and release dates are summarized below.
