Most U.S. Mint products released so far in 2026 are currently unavailable. Of 64 offerings, 39, or 60.9%, cannot be ordered as of this writing, leaving 25 available.

CoinNews photo shows dual dated 2026 Emerging Liberty dimes that have long been unavailable from the Mint

Many of this year’s releases feature special elements celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, including the dual date 1776 ~ 2026, Liberty Bell privy marks and one-year-only designs. Availability is especially limited for coin rolls and bags, with 30 of 33 options unavailable.

The pattern closely matches what CoinNews observed in early April, when just 7 of 23 products remained available and 16, or 69.6%, were unavailable. The Mint has since added 41 products to its 2026 lineup, yet widespread unavailability has persisted.

Seven FIFA World Cup commemorative coin products remain available and help lower the overall unavailable rate. Congress authorized maximum mintages of 100,000 gold coins, 500,000 silver dollars and 750,000 half dollars for the program — levels well above recent commemorative sales and current FIFA demand. Counting coins sold individually and through the three-coin proof set, reported FIFA sales equal roughly 4.5% of the gold maximum, 5% of the silver dollar maximum and 3.2% of the half dollar maximum.

The two Presidential Silver Medals released this year also differ from most 2026 offerings. The Woodrow Wilson and Warren G. Harding medals have no mintage or product limits and no fixed sales deadlines, making them open-ended catalog products rather than limited annual releases.

Together, the seven FIFA products and two Presidential medals account for 9 of the 25 currently available products, or 36%. Setting those nine aside leaves 55 other 2026 products, of which 39, or 70.9%, are unavailable. For a comparable look at early April, removing the open-ended Woodrow Wilson medal from that earlier tally leaves 16 of 22 products unavailable, or 72.7%.

By that measure, availability across the rest of the Mint’s lineup has changed little in more than four months.

The table below shows current availability and the latest reported U.S. Mint sales figures through Aug. 9 for products released so far this year.

30 of 33 Roll and Bag Options Are Unavailable

Circulating-quality rolls and bags show especially tight availability in the Mint’s 2026 lineup. Of 33 individual roll and bag options released so far, 30, or 90.9%, are currently unavailable. Only three remain orderable: the Enduring Liberty half dollar 200-coin bag and the Philadelphia and Denver 25-coin rolls of Minnesota American Innovation dollars.

Native American dollar products illustrate how availability has tightened since CoinNews reviewed the lineup in April. At that time the Philadelphia and Denver 25-coin rolls were still available while the corresponding 100-coin bags were not. All four products are now unavailable.

American Innovation dollar products show an even broader pattern. Of 16 roll and bag options released for Iowa, Wisconsin, California and Minnesota, 14 are currently unavailable. The only exceptions are the two Minnesota 25-coin rolls.

Semiquincentennial quarter products have been similarly difficult to obtain directly from the Mint. All nine roll and bag options released so far for the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War and Declaration of Independence quarters are currently unavailable.

The Emerging Liberty dime two-roll set and 200-coin bag are also unavailable. Of the two Enduring Liberty half dollar products, the two-roll set is unavailable, while the 200-coin bag remains available.

    Availability Can Return

As CoinNews noted in April, the U.S. Mint rarely labels products officially “Sold Out.” Products more often shift to “Currently Unavailable,” a status that can prove temporary when canceled orders return to inventory or the Mint releases additional units.

The current numbers therefore offer a snapshot rather than a final tally of which products collectors may still have another opportunity to buy.

One recent example is the 2026 Mint Set. After becoming unavailable shortly after its June 30 launch and remaining that way for weeks, the set recently returned on a backorder basis as the Mint indicated additional inventory was being made. Its latest reported sales stand at 287,057 against a 300,000 product limit.

The 2026-W Proof American Silver Eagle provides another example. It was unavailable when CoinNews examined the lineup in early April but later returned to availability. Its latest reported sales stand at 426,193 against a 500,000 limit.

Such changes reinforce why “Currently Unavailable” should not automatically be treated as a sellout. Products can return through canceled orders, returns or additional inventory, and some may cycle between available and unavailable more than once.

Even with those returns, the broader picture remains striking. More than 60% of all 2026 product options released so far are currently unavailable, and among circulating-quality roll and bag offerings, the figure exceeds 90%.
