Trump $1, Palladium Eagle, Best of Mint: September Releases

September’s U.S. Mint lineup opens with two dual-dated releases: President Donald J. Trump dollars, some carrying a special privy mark, and a low-mintage American Palladium Eagle, along with a silver medal featuring President Calvin Coolidge. Later in the month, the Mint will close out its five-part Best of the Mint series with the 1907 Saint-Gaudens High Relief $20 Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set.

US Mint September 2026 Coin Products
US Mint products scheduled for release in September include President Donald J Trump $1 coins an American Palladium Eagle a Calvin Coolidge Presidential Silver Medal and the final Best of the Mint set

Three of the four releases tie directly to America’s 250th anniversary, with the Trump dollar, Palladium Eagle and Saint-Gaudens Best of the Mint set carrying Semiquincentennial designs or special anniversary elements. The Mint’s current schedule lists the four products with specific September release dates, while several additional offerings remain scheduled more broadly for fall.

    September 2: 1776 ~ 2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin Rolls and Bags

September opens with one of the year’s more unusual U.S. Mint releases as rolls and bags of the 1776 ~ 2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 coin go on sale. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a circulating finish but without a mint mark, the coins will be offered in 25-coin rolls for $61 and 100-coin bags for $154.50. They are legal tender but are not being issued for general circulation.

Adding a chase element and a measure of scarcity, 250,000 Trump dollars were struck on the Fourth of July with a special “JULY 4th” privy mark. The Mint randomly placed those coins among the rolls and bags rather than offering them separately.

The obverse, designed by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna from an official White House photograph by Daniel Torok, features a portrait of Trump along with LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and the dual date 1776 ~ 2026. The reverse depicts the Presidential Seal, with “250” appearing on the eagle’s shield as another Semiquincentennial element.

The Mint has set product limits of 150,000 rolls and 50,000 bags, with an initial household order limit of two per product. If all are sold, the two product options would account for 8.75 million coins.

    September 3: 1776 ~ 2026 American Palladium Eagle

The following day brings the 2026-W Uncirculated American Palladium Eagle, a special one-year Semiquincentennial edition struck at the West Point Mint. The $25 coin contains one troy ounce of .9995 fine palladium and carries both the 1776 ~ 2026 dual date and a Liberty Bell 250 privy mark.

Its obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s Winged Liberty design from the 1916 Mercury dime, while the reverse reproduces Weinman’s eagle and branch design created for the 1907 American Institute of Architects Gold Medal.

Only 5,000 coins may be produced and sold, with an initial household order limit of one. That is below the 6,000-unit product limit for the 2025-W Reverse Proof Palladium Eagle. Pricing for the 2026 coin has not yet been announced.

September 3: Calvin Coolidge Presidential Silver Medal

Also arriving Sept. 3 is the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Silver Medal, continuing the U.S. Mint’s series honoring former presidents. Priced at $164, the matte-finish medal contains one troy ounce of 99.9% silver, measures 1.598 inches in diameter and has a plain edge. There are no mintage, product or household order limits.

Both sides were designed by former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Ray Sinnock. The obverse presents a bust of Coolidge, the nation’s 30th president, while the reverse shows a seated female figure holding fasces, accompanied by a heraldic eagle, the shield of the United States and a cornucopia within a laurel wreath.

September 24: 1907 Saint-Gaudens High Relief $20 Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set

September closes with the fifth and final release in the Best of the Mint series, pairing a one-ounce 24-karat gold recreation of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ famed 1907 High Relief $20 double eagle with a newly designed one-ounce silver companion medal. The gold coin is struck at West Point and the silver medal at Philadelphia.

The gold coin recreates Saint-Gaudens’ Liberty striding forward with a torch and olive branch on the obverse and a soaring eagle above the rising Sun on the reverse. A Liberty Bell 250 privy mark has been added for the Semiquincentennial, while E PLURIBUS UNUM appears in raised lettering on the edge in keeping with the historic design.

The companion medal offers a modern interpretation of the Saint-Gaudens design. Its obverse presents a new view of Liberty carrying a torch and olive branch alongside 13 stars representing the original colonies. The reverse transforms the eagle’s wings into an American flag as it soars above the Sun.

Mintage is limited to 15,000 sets, matching the limit for August’s 1804 silver dollar Best of the Mint release, which is currently unavailable from the Mint. The Saint-Gaudens set will carry an initial household order limit of one, while pricing remains to be announced.

Product limits, prices and release dates are summarized below.
