U.S. Mint rolls and bags of this year’s one-year-only dime will be offered to the public, according to a notice published March 20 in the Federal Register. Issued as part of the nation’s Semiquincentennial celebration, the dual-dated coin features the Emerging Liberty design — a collector favorite among 2026 coinage — and is the first circulating dime since 1946 without the portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

While not yet listed on the Mint’s schedule or any product page, the federal notice outlines two upcoming products and their prices:
- 2026 Emerging Liberty Dime Two-Roll Set — $40
- 2026 Emerging Liberty Dime 200-Coin Bag — $54
Based on past and similar offerings, the rolls and bags will include dimes struck at the Mint’s two facilities that produce circulating coins — the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The products will also feature U.S. Mint-branded roll wrappers and bags.
Sales are expected to begin later this year, though the Mint has not yet announced an official release date.
Circulation Finds Already Emerging
There are also opportunities to find the coin in circulation.
The Mint confirmed earlier that it began shipping 2026 Semiquincentennial coins to Federal Reserve Banks on Jan. 5, including the Emerging Liberty Dime. Through February, the Mint reported 193.5 million struck for circulation, with 69 million from Denver and 124.5 million from Philadelphia. Examples are already entering circulation, offering collectors a chance to find them through everyday transactions.
Strong Secondary-Market Activity
Secondary-market activity reflects strong interest across Semiquincentennial coinage. Early on, single $5 rolls of the new dimes were selling for around $100. Prices have since pulled back, with most now in the $30 to $45 range.
Designs Reflect Nation’s 250th Anniversary
The 2026 dime features designs created specifically for the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The obverse (heads) depicts a determined Liberty with winds of revolution moving through her hair as she confronts the tyranny of the British monarchy. Her liberty cap, adorned with stars and stripes, symbolizes a growing nation while also referencing early American coinage. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1776 ~ 2026.
On the reverse (tails), an eagle is shown in flight with arrows in its talons, representing the American Revolution and the colonists’ fight for independence. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DIME, and LIBERTY OVER TYRANNY.
The pair of designs was selected from among 21 candidates reviewed in late 2024.
Additional details, including release timing and order limits, are expected once the Mint lists the products on its website.
In 2027, the coin will again depict President Roosevelt.
