The United States Mint’s 2026 Semiquincentennial Silver Proof Set goes on sale today, June 11, at noon ET. This release gives collectors one of only three opportunities to obtain a 2026 Lincoln cent and the only complete lineup of 2026 Semiquincentennial silver coins.
Demand is already evident. The Mint’s latest sales report shows that 153,304 sets have been claimed through its subscription program, which lets customers reserve annual products before their public release. That leaves fewer than 100,000 sets available for today’s public launch, based on the Mint’s published mintage of 250,520.
One of Only Three Products Offering a 2026 Cent
Because the Mint is no longer producing cents for circulation, 2026-dated cents will be available only in three numismatic products, making this set one of the few ways collectors can obtain the coin. This Silver Proof Set and the standard 2026 Proof Set scheduled for fall are the only two products expected to offer the cent in proof quality, while the uncirculated 2026 Mint Set launching later in June will include uncirculated examples.
Only Complete 2026 Semiquincentennial Silver Lineup
In addition, the San Francisco-struck set is the only Mint product offering the full 2026 Semiquincentennial lineup in silver: the Emerging Liberty dime, all five Semiquincentennial quarters, and the Enduring Liberty half dollar. Each features a special design commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary, and those designs appear only on coins issued this year.
The set contains 10 proof-quality coins in all, each bearing the “S” mint mark of the San Francisco Mint. Seven are struck in 99.9% fine silver: the dime, five quarters, and half dollar. Together, they contain 1.473 troy ounces of silver.
The five 2026 Semiquincentennial quarters carry reverse designs honoring the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Gettysburg Address. The series is part of the Mint’s one-year program marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.
2026 Designs Replace Kennedy and Roosevelt Portraits
The 2026 Enduring Liberty half dollar marks the first U.S. half dollar since 1964 without John F. Kennedy’s portrait. It replaces the long-familiar obverse and presidential coat of arms reverse with Statue of Liberty-themed designs celebrating the nation’s Semiquincentennial.
Similarly, the Emerging Liberty dime replaces Franklin D. Roosevelt’s portrait, bringing a Liberty-themed design back to the dime’s obverse for the first time since 1945, when the Mercury dime ended.
All But Native American Dollar Carry Dual Dates
Also included are the 2026 Native American $1 coin, Jefferson nickel, and Lincoln cent. The dollar carries a new reverse design portraying Polly Cooper holding a basket as she shares the Oneidas’ gift of corn with General George Washington, who holds his hat in gratitude and respect. It is the only coin in the set without the dual date “1776 ~ 2026.”
