U.S. Mint Opens Subscriptions for Comic Art Three-Medal Set

The United States Mint is now accepting subscription for its first Comic Art Three-Medal Set, bringing Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman together in a single collectible scheduled for release Aug. 3.

The U.S. Mint’s first Comic Art Three-Medal Set features Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman medals

The set combines designs introduced last year as part of the Mint’s Comic Art Coin and Medal Program, a multi-year initiative developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery. The program celebrates the ideals of DC Super Heroes and the American values they embody.

Officially titled the Comic Art Three-Medal Set, 2025 Super Heroes, the collection will become available for individual purchase at noon ET on the Aug. 3. Subscribers will automatically receive the set when shipments begin.

The Mint’s subscription page lists an estimated price of $130, though the final amount may change before fulfillment. Subscriptions are limited to two per household. For direct purchases on Aug. 3, the Mint has set an initial household order limit of one set for the first 24 hours, subject to change.

Once enrolled, subscribers will receive the upcoming three-medal set, followed by one set annually until they cancel or the series concludes. The Mint provides advance notification before each shipment, and customers may skip an installment or cancel at any time.

First Three DC Super Heroes in One Set

The first set brings together DC’s core trio of Super Heroes:

    • Superman — shown in flight, symbolizing hope and strength
    • Batman — depicted in motion against a Gotham skyline, representing justice and determination
    • Wonder Woman — portrayed with her shield and Lasso of Truth, reflecting peace and equality

Although the medals carry no monetary inscriptions, they feature the same core designs used on their corresponding gold coins and silver medals.

In its initial public version, the Mint’s June 17 press release described the pieces as 1-ounce silver medals. The description was later corrected. The matte-finish medals are actually composed of 8.33 percent nickel with the balance copper. Each weighs 11.340 grams and measures 1.205 inches (30.61 millimeters) in diameter, matching the specifications of a U.S. half dollar. Unlike half dollars, the medals have plain edges and bear no denomination, as they are not legal tender.

The Mint’s product page lists both the mintage limit and product limit as “None.”

Comic Art Coin and Medal Program

Launched in 2025, the program began with Superman, followed by Batman and Wonder Woman. Each character appeared on a half-ounce 24-karat gold coin, a 2.5-ounce silver medal, and a 1-ounce silver medal.

Green Lantern, Robin and Supergirl join the program in 2026, followed by The Flash, Batgirl and Aquaman in 2027.
