Standard Chartered Sees Arbitrum as Potential Top Digital Asset Performer Through 2030

    • Standard Chartered projects ARB at US$10 by the end of 2030, roughly 70 times the token’s price when analyst Geoff Kendrick’s client note was reported on September 15.
    • The bank estimates Arbitrum will collect about US$5 million in program fees in September, up from under US$1 million a month before Robinhood Chain launched.
    • Kendrick expects ARB to outperform Bitcoin and Ether through 2030, while flagging slower tokenisation, rival chains and ARB holders’ lack of a direct revenue claim as risks.

Standard Chartered forecasts Arbitrum’s ARB token reaching US$10 (AU$14) by the end of 2030, roughly 70X its price, citing the network’s growing cut of revenue from companies such as Robinhood that build on it.

Geoff Kendrick, the bank’s global head of digital assets research, set a path of US$0.50 (AU$0.70) by the end of 2026, US$1.50 (AU$2.10) in 2027, US$3.50 (AU$4.90) in 2028 and US$6.50 (AU$9.10) in 2029, and expects the token to outperform Bitcoin and Ether over the period.

The forecast rests on the Arbitrum Expansion Program, the licence under which Robinhood Chain pays 10% of its protocol net revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem, split 8% to the ArbitrumDAO treasury and 2% to the Arbitrum Developer Guild.

Kendrick stated the launch “demonstrated the potential for Arbitrum to become the number 1 choice for TradFi when bringing assets on-chain”.

    Robinhood Chain Pays Its Way

Robinhood Chain went live on public mainnet on 1 July after a testnet that processed more than 200 million transactions, hosting Robinhood’s Stock Tokens alongside Uniswap trading, Morpho lending and the Paxos-issued USDG stablecoin.

In its first month, the chain paid about US$360,000 (AU$504,000) in licence fees, roughly 35% of the ArbitrumDAO’s income for July, according to the bank.

Standard Chartered estimates Arbitrum will collect about US$5 million (AU$7 million) in program fees in September at the current run rate, up from under US$1 million (AU$1.4 million) a month before the launch.

Robinhood Chain’s daily fee revenue averaged US$2.8 million (AU$3.92 million) in the first two weeks of September, the bank noted, the same adoption run CNA charted as the chain neared US$1 billion (AU$1.4 billion) in single-day trading volume.

Standard Chartered, which has built its own crypto footprint through a partnership with prime broker FalconX, forecasts US$4 trillion (AU$5.6 trillion) of traditional assets to be tokenised by the end of 2028.

Kendrick’s valuation keys ARB to Arbitrum’s share of the revenue companies generate building on the network, part of the shift that Bitwise’s Matt Hougan has called Wall Street’s next trillion-dollar revolution.

Kendrick flagged slower-than-expected tokenisation and competition from rival blockchains as the main risks to the call, and noted ARB holders currently have no direct claim on the revenue flowing to the DAO.
