Supergirl joins the United States Mint’s Comic Art Coin and Medal Program today, with a new gold coin and two silver medals going on sale at noon ET.

The fourth release in the series includes a half-ounce 24-karat proof $50 gold coin struck at the West Point Mint and two matte-finish .999 fine silver medals produced in Philadelphia. All three feature designs showing Supergirl in flight and alongside Krypto the Superdog.
Launched in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, the multi-year program debuted in 2025 with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Supergirl opens the 2026 lineup, with Robin and Green Lantern scheduled to follow.
Available beginning are three Mint-designated products:
- Comic Art 24-Karat Gold Proof Coin – Supergirl — containing 1/2 troy ounce of 99.99% gold
- Comic Art 2.5 Ounce Silver Medal – Supergirl — crafted from 2.5 ounces of 99.9% silver
- Comic Art One Ounce Silver Medal – Supergirl — struck from 1 ounce of 99.9% silver
Design candidates for the Supergirl coin and medals were unveiled publicly in September 2025 when they were reviewed by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) and the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA).
U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, a former DC artist, designed and sculpted the obverse. It depicts Supergirl soaring high above the clouds with her cape billowing in the wind. Inscriptions vary by product. The gold coin carries LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and 2026, while the 2.5-ounce silver medal includes LIBERTY and 2026. Only LIBERTY appears on the 1-ounce medal.
U.S. Mint Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill designed and sculpted the reverse, which features Supergirl and Krypto surrounded by a starburst effect. Gold coin inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, $50, FINE GOLD and 1/2 OZ. .9999. Both silver medals carry SUPERGIRL, BRAVERY LIFTS HER and GRACE GUIDES HER.
